Every Friday morning, La Bisbal d’Empordà — capital of Catalan ceramics — sets out one of the most characterful markets in the region around the Plaça del Castell and through the lanes of the old town.
Alongside the stalls of fruit, vegetables and local produce comes what gives the place its soul: handmade pottery and ceramics. Workshops and craft shops line the Carrer de l’Aigüeta — the perfect spot to take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
Good to know: 20 min away by car (19 km). Market on Fridays from around 8 am to 2 pm. Bring cash — many stalls don’t take cards.
