The Platja de Castell is a textbook case: in the 1990s, a popular referendum halted a property development project to preserve one of the coast’s last unspoilt beaches. The result? No buildings, no concrete promenade — just sand, pines and the sea.
Above the beach, the poblat ibèric de Castell, an Iberian settlement over 2,000 years old, overlooks the bay. On either side, the Camí de Ronda leads to secluded coves.
Good to know: paid parking in season, 10 min on foot — come early, or cycle from La Fosca.
