Platja d'Aro

Platja d’Aro (Castell-Platja d’Aro) is the Costa Brava’s shopping and nightlife resort. Along the Avinguda de S’Agaró, hundreds of shops — major Spanish and international brands — line up for nearly a kilometre, open late and often on Sundays in season.

By day, it’s all about the great sandy beach that runs for several kilometres to the marina, and the Aquadiver water park for families. By night, the town lights up: beach bars, terraces and clubs make Platja d’Aro the heart of the coast’s summer nights.

Good to know: 15 min by car (7 km to the south). The weekly market is held on Friday mornings. In summer, it’s best to park on the outskirts and walk into the centre.
