The Camí de Ronda: the Costa Brava on foot from La Fosca

The Camí de Ronda is that coastal path that hugs the Catalan shoreline as close to the water as possible. Originally laid out for coastal surveillance and the fight against smuggling, today it offers one of the finest walks on the Costa Brava — accessible directly from La Fosca.

The route from La Fosca

To the south, the path runs along the coves all the way to Palamós and its harbour. To the north, it reaches Castell beach and then, for keener walkers, the coves towards Calella de Palafrugell. You alternate between shaded stretches under the pines, steps carved into the rock and viewpoints over the sea.

Walking it well

• Closed shoes: the path is beautifully wild, sometimes rocky.
• Water and a hat: little shade in the afternoon.
• Early morning or late in the day for the light and the cool.
• Slip your swimsuit into your bag: every cove is an invitation to a swim.

Who is it for?

The nearby sections are easy and suitable for families; by linking sections together, you put together a real half-day of coastal hiking. On arrival, a leisurely return to the apartment, and why not a fish meal as a reward.
