The fishermen's huts

25 min à pied · 8 min en voiture

Cala S’Alguer is one of the Costa Brava’s postcard images: a narrow pebble cove lined with brightly coloured fishermen’s huts (the barraques), listed as a site of cultural interest. There are no hotels here — time seems to have stood still since the 16th century.

You reach it on foot along the Camí de Ronda from Palamós or Castell, through the pines. You swim among the boats hauled up on the pebbles.

Good to know: a wonderfully photogenic spot at the end of the day; please respect the peace of the huts, which are private.
