The Fishing Museum
On the fishing harbour of Palamós, the Fishing Museum (Museu de la Pesca) is the only one in Catalonia devoted to Mediterranean fishing. It tells the story of the town and its red gamba through old boats, objects and first-hand accounts.
The highlights happen outside: the guided tour of the fish auction (the subhasta), where you watch the catch being sold live from behind a big window, and trips out to sea aboard the “Rafael”, a lateen sailing boat from 1915, or pescaturisme on a working fishing boat.
Good to know: 8 min away by car, right on the harbour. Audio guide in French; the auction tour and sea trips must be booked in advance.
